I think mergers would be a great thing to have in this game. It works like that in the real world. If you're a big airline and you want to takeover another airline that's smaller, that gives you a huge leg up on your competition. Also, with that you can provide a better product at a lower cost than your competition (economies of scale).
One feature that I would like to see is being able to brand International Business Class Seats as First Class on Domestic Flights. American Airlines is an airline that does this with their 763's.
