Singapore Airlines is pleased to announce that today it is entering into a joint business venture alongside Allianz Deutsche Financial Corporation to establish a new full service German Airline called German Midland International (GMI Airlines) within the coming months.

The Airline will be based in Dusseldorf with future plans to add more hubs across Germany.

A 25% stake will be taken in the joint venture whilst ADFC and its network subsidiaries will take majority ownership. ADFC has also hinted at the possibility that it will take out a 30% stake in the SIA Group which will allow for further future expansion of the airline with new orders for Boeing 747, 767 and 777 aircraft for new medium and long haul routes.

SIA Group CEO Tim-Buk-Tu is very excited for the future prospects of Singapore Airlines and the new joint venture airline stating that it will open Singapore to the rest of the world.
" This new business agreement will provide customers of Singapore Airlines and Skygroup affiliate airlines extended access to European and east coast American destinations".

Meanwhile Singapore Airlines is also pleased to announce that reservations are now open for Singapore Airline's third European destination Paris. The route will commence August 14 initially flying 4x weekly on Boeing 747-400 equipment until late September where the route will go daily.
