It is obvious that several airlines lease gates without operating any flights at them. Yes, it is a creative way of securing future power over routes. But in the real world i think an airport manager would be a bit annoyed with having all gates leased out but no flights coming in.
Would it be possible for unused gates to be automatically returned?
