I am having a hard time figuring out this "Weight restrictions". I am running a 757-200 from NA to EU. The runway is at 12,675 ft & 10,000 ft respectively. this is more that adequate since that the required runway is 6195 feet. How does a 210 passenger jet have a "Weight restricted to 45 pax" tag. I am flying on this route 3/week. My competitor has a DC 10-30 running 5X, and doesn't seem to be an issue.

Thank You

It's the range. You can't fly an aircraft to the extent of its range anymore. Try flying with a different aircraft with longer range.

That sounds a little silly. I have a range of nearly 4700(757-200 with winglets) and I am flying around 4350 between the two cities. What is the magic formula can I use to ensure that this does not happen on my other routes...85% of the maximum range or 80%..

Thank You

Do you have any other routes on that plane?

Yes I do. I have it on a similar size of city going to the same city in EU, and got the pretty much the same result on the second route.

Weight restrictions in AE are functions of route length compared to an aircraft's range.

As you can see from the payload/range chart below, most aircraft experience a sharp dropoff in payload as they near their maximum range, as the required fuel encroach on payload (weight) capacity while the max takeoff weight stays the same. On most aircraft you cannot max out both the fuel tanks and the pax/cargo space at the same time.

What will happen if we still operate the route with weight restrictions without removing the seat?

Nothing. It will work fine. The game will automatically sell the maximum number of tickets. So if your plane has 200 seats and is restricted by weight on a route and your max pax capacity is 180, your plane will get 180 pax on it, filled from first to coach as demand dictates.

Wait so an a320 has a range of 3,106 but that's not it's maximum it still can go to 4,141 but if u go higher than 3,106 it puts a weight restriction on it right?

planes i have been on 747,A320,

yes.

You can also change the seat configuration so that it has less seats (therefore it can fly further), though it's not really worth it imo on anything smaller than like 200-220 seats
