I was studying some 100 seat airplanes. I think AE maybe have B717-200 spec wrong to make it a redundant plane to buy. In AE, B717 is less efficient than the older BAe 146, B735, B736 or newer A318 in most aspects. However I had a check on Wikipedia and it quoted:
"It is roomier and faster than the BAe 146, cheaper to operate, and achieved a higher dispatch reliability, over 99%, than competing aircraft."
"While the aircraft were similar in overall size, the 737-600 was better suited to long-distance routes, while the lighter 717 was more efficient on shorter, regional routes."
"the 717 had operating costs 10% lower than the A318".
Maybe we should look into adjust B717 spec to make the game more realistic and interesting?

Great way to justify an argument there

remember that is most likely written by the boeing marketing division - ae uses actual data gathered from proper sources

Are you calling my physics teacher wise?

Maybe the fact that the 717 is a redundant plane is the reason why there aren't thousands flying around

Yes...If you look at the 717 in service, there are barilly any.
I personally think that a succesfull 100 seat aircraft would be the F100, even though it is no longer manufactured, it should still be. There's a company called Rekkof who are looking into manufacturing an NG version. All they need is permision from the designs owners.
The original success is still captured by the fact that a regional Australian Airline has bought 15 from someone to use on flights to PER (Yay, more flights for me to watch from the window in front of me!). Even I have looked throughout all the AE aircraft and can't find an aircraft better then it other then the C-100 series bombardier are about to start manyfacturing.

The 717 isn't old at all - actually the Boeing 737 NG has been produced for longer...
