I think that each flight should be assigned a flight number. once again, this would be just for kicks, and i think it would be easier to find routes: (i.e. In the forums: my route BOS-LAX, AP001, is very profitable, and also you would have route numbers that make sense for the linking code. It also would allow you to see individual loadfactors, profti etc. This would help me out a lot.

wow first.. can you change that sig?? too long and people complained about mine when it was big.

THIS HAS BEEN BRAUGHT UP BEFORE.. okay end of that
routes are assigned in order of how they enter the db ... only thing is you would be able to have an airline code like AA then route number.

i know thats what i want... you choose your airlines two letter code and it assigns your own flight numbers, and it allows you to see profit, LF, etc. etc. etc. When it was brought up before it did not have those things on it.

yes.. but not really needed, adds nothing to the game.. but needs coding put into it so it would be a waste of time.
oh and .... what bout changing that sig??? i have to scroll down like half the page to get by it.. and i am on the max resolution you can have....

Remove the plane, and the comment at the end, put the cities in a lateral format (Like the way I have my fleet)

yeah.. all you need in your sig is really your airline logo and maybe 1 line.. not some huge enourmous thing that is all blurry because its scaled down or something.,

?Anyway, that's probably why it's first-come first serve, and that's why we have three letter icao codes.

when you add in numbers and letters its 1296. Lots of airlines have these i.e. jetblue is B6

ICAO codes all the way, much better than the IATA's (cleaner to have 3 letters rather than Letter + Number), no need then for Numbers!

Let me just say this:
Flight numbers and airline codes aint going to be in the game anytime soon. I believe before this even comes into the game, a new way of creating routes would be needed. Ur looking at having a daily planner with having hourly blocks and trying to allocate the aircraft to different route across ur network. Then, only then would i think flight numbers and airline codes would be implemented.
I dont think having it just for kicks is very important. There are more important things that need to be looked at or implemented before this ever occurs.
Im not trying to ruined ur idea, but lets be a bit more realistic!!!

Not wanting to advertise, but CS allows you to select a two letter code and then get flight numbers. All that happens really is the route id has leading 0s appended and it sticks the code on Perhaps miller coul do that too. However AE is rather crowded, with 1000+ airlines 0_0
