Air Ankara Press Release: Apr 22, 2009

We are proud to announce the creation of the newest airline in Turkey: Air Ankara. Based in Ankara, the capital & 2nd largest city in Turkey, Air Ankara has leased three Airbus aircraft & has began service to 8 destinations throughout Turkey, Asia, Africa, & Europe. We hope to expand our services in the near future & hope to see you on board soon. A list of our destinations is shown below; all flights are from our hub in Ankara, Turkey:

Domestic Flights from Ankara:
Istanbul, Turkey - 2x Daily
Izmir, Turkey - 2x Daily
Antalya, Turkey - 2x Daily

European flights from Ankara:
Hamburg, Germany - 2x Daily

African flights from Ankara:
Algiers, Algeria - 1x Daily

Asian flights from Ankara (includes Middle Eastern destinations):
Beirut, Lebanon - 1x Daily
Karachi, Pakistan - 1x Daily
Lahore, Pakistan - 1x Daily*

*temporarily excluding Sundays

Air Ankara is young & growing!

Air Ankara has acquired more Airbus A319-100 aircraft leases over the last few months. We have dramatically expanded into key European markets & are especially proud to announce our first transatlantic service to Washington, DC with daily service excluding Sundays. Air Ankara will implement Sunday service upon delivery of our next Airbus A319-100LR aircraft (scheduled to occur within the next two weeks). We have several new orders for extended-range narrow-body aircraft in the hopes to expand our services beyond the range of traditional Airbus A319-100 aircraft. Our destinations served from our hub in Ankara can be found below; we hope to see you on board soon.

I still believe there is plenty of room to grow in AE8. Admittedly, its hard, but if you know the right aircraft and can find some decent niches, then you'll be fine :)

So far so good. My late-start USA-based airline in AE8 is doing just fine. I'm not setting out to make it the hugest in the world or anything, but the market I've chosen (West Texas) has plenty of room for growth & it's fun... I'll try to post another press release for that airline soon...
