F. ANNOUNCEMENTS

1. December 5, 2009
AEA has signed a letter of interest for many new airplanes: 60 ATR42-600s (in a C4Y43 layout, to replace ERJ-140ERs), 15 ATR72-600s (in a C4Y67 layout), 15 Boeing 787-800s, and 15 Boeing 747-800s (layout TBA). The ATRs, which have more range than our current regional aircraft, will expand our regional system.
AEA has also ordered 20 Airbus A330-200s in an F12C27Y207 layout, adding to 52 in our fleet, and 10 Boeing 737-700s in a C8Y136 layout, adding to 45 -700s and 36 -700ERs.
AEA is also searching for our 11th hub. Cities being floated are Detroit (DTW), Orlando (MCO), Houston (IAH) and Seattle (SEA).
AEA is also looking at a long-term replacement for our 757s, which would enter service in 2014-2016. Current aircraft being investigated are the Boeing 767-300, the Boeing 737-900ER, and the Airbus A330-200.

2. June 6, 2010
AEA is proud to announce the arrival of our first ATR72-600s. After the delivery of all 15, we will receive 60 ATR42-600s to expand our AEAExpress network, as well as to replace our existing fleet of 45 Embraer ERJ-140ERs. The ERJs will be removed from our mainline fleet by late 2012.
Also, our first Embraer ERJ-190STDs have arrived. AEA was prud to be the launch customer for this E-Jet variant, which will replace our older Boeing 717s and become a true workhorse in our regional fleet.
AEA is also introducing an ambitious plan to purchase all of our aircraft leases and thus increase our valuation. Currently we are ranked at #7. AEA's goal is to finish AE8 in the Top 3 airlines, which will be made easier by the sudden departure of Pacific Airlines.
Stay tuned for our latest news!

3. August 6, 2010
AEA is proud to announce an alliance code-share with British Sovereign Airways. Since EU-AUS/NZ flights are not allowed, BSA set up a code-share with group airline TransCanadian, an LHR-YVR-SYD service with an A340. Now, AEA set up a similar agreement, a 5x weekly LGW-SLC-SYD direct (no plane change) 777-300ER service (adding to existing A330 flights). Plus, we have convenient connections via Manchester (MAN), Newcastle (NCL) on the UK side as well as connections to Auckland (AKL) and Brisbane (BNE).

4. March 23, 2011
AEA is happy to have received our first 747-800 and 787-800 aircraft. The 748 has been placed onto transatlantic routes from Honolulu, and the 787 is on the Milwaukee-Singapore route. Passengers wanting to connect from New York or other AEA destinations will find an easy transfer at Milwaukee. Service to Singapore via Honolulu is also available.
We have also taken delivery of our ATR aircraft, replacing our ERJ-140 aircraft which have insufficient range for our current domestic and regional operations.
AEA is also exploring new aircraft: we have 10 delivery slots reserved for 737-900ERs.
We are also beginning retirement of our nearly 100-strong 757 fleet (45 -200s/44 -300) which are one of our most profitable aircraft. The replacement is rumored to be the 787-800 but the 767-300 is also in discussion. Also, our 86 A310s will be retired and replaced with A330s and 787s.

5. May 2, 2012
Unfortunately, due to the Qantas incident, our 25 Rolls Royce Trent 900-powered Airbus A380-800s will be removed from service until the end of the month for heavy C-checks. Our 25 Engine Alliance GP7200-powered A380s are remaining in service. As a replacement, passengers can expect a Boeing 747-8 or a Boeing 777-300ER.
Also, due to the volcano eruption in Indonesia, flights into Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta (CGK) and Denpasar Bali (DPS) have been cancelled. Please see your local AEA office if you need to rebook. However, for the time being, flights into Singapore (SIN), Bandar Seri Begawan (BWN) and Kuala Lumpur (KUL) are remaining open. Expect that if any of these airports is closed, you will likely wait in Honolulu for the next possible flight.
Our 757-300s and A310s will be leaving the fleet soon, replaced by Boeing 787-8s.
Stay tuned for the latest information about the A380 crisis and the Volcano Eruption.
