Today saw the establishment of a new airline in North America, named Australis and saw the introduction of 2 Douglas DC-3 aircraft, which seat approximately around 28 people.

The CEO of Australis mentioned at the ceremony:
"Today we see the launch of a new airline in North America. One that will hopefully capture the imagination of the public, be able to connect major cities and be an airline that is innovative and welcomes the newest and biggest aircraft into the fleet.

We hope that Australis grows into the biggest airline in North America. But first, we must work our way up and determine our own future."

At present, Australis currently flies to 9 destinations across Eastern United States, and more destinations are expected since the CEO of Australis also mentioned that more Douglas DC-3s will be introduced into the fleet over the next 6-12 months.

Australis today introduced another Douglas DC-3 into its fleet, which has allowed the airline to open 2 new destinations from Orlando. Though, Australis is still looking at acquiring more Douglas DC-3 in the short term, to be able to establish new markets from certain destinations along the US East Coast.

"This is just part of Australis' expansion. We also have ordered 2 Douglas DC-3s which will hopefully be used to open new destinations across the US East Coast, which we have focused upon for our expansion. However, we are always searching the market for used Douglas DC-3s, which also is another way for Australis to expand."

Australis saw the introduction of the Convair 240 at the beginning of the month, which was used to complement existing Douglas DC-3 services currently being offered by the airline.

The Convair 240 is the latest generation aircraft, which can comfortably sit 40 passengers and has a maximum range of 1200 miles, which opens new opportunities for Australis which is currently in expansion mode. Also, due to its increased speed over the Douglas DC-3, it gives the Convair the edge over its Douglas rival.

"The flying customers that use Australis on their trips will see more Convair 240s flying on our routes, since we expect to order more over the coming months, as we look to further expand current routes, while open new, fresh routes. Its an exciting time for Australis and for our passengers."

After a year in operation and growing in key markets along the US East Coast, Australis is one of the emerging airlines in the aviation scene, not only in North America, but also across the world.

Australis welcomed this month, its 20th aircraft into the fleet, a Convair 240. It was only 12 months ago that Australis was only flying 2 Douglas DC-3s routes but has now grown to a fleet which compromises the following:
- 16 Douglas DC-3
- 4 Conviar 240

In a recent meeting, the CEO of Australis mentioned the following:
"We have managed to source more Douglas DC-3s for our future operations, which we expect to start to arrive in 3-4 months time. These increase in the DC-3 fleet will also be followed with the arrival of more Convair 240s to help strengthen our current route network.

However, we are looking at other aircraft to extend our reach and scope in the US East Coast market. We expect to reach a decision soon in that regard."

Australis received its 50th aircraft, which was a Convair 240 which were received today from an aircraft broker, apart from another 4 Douglas DC-3s and also, another Convair 240. The current fleet at Australis is:
45 Douglas DC-3
6 Convair 240

"It has being a good 6-12 months, in which Australis has being receiving Douglas DC-3s at a constant rate, which has allowed us to grow existing routes while also, open new routes to new destinations, which have being more than welcomed by passengers so far.

We are enjoying our growing success and we will be receiving more Douglas DC-3s and Convairs 240s to sustain our growth and expansion at present. We are particularly looking at growing more routes at Orlando, which has seen a rescheduling of operations recently. This was done as we wish to establish more routes from Orlando to more destinations along the US East Coast. But also, to give passengers, more flights per day across the destinations from Orlando to allow them to do business with ease or travel to their holiday knowing Australis gives them choice and comfort.

We hope our passengers enjoy these new flights while also watch Australis, as we will be opening new routes soon."
