Looks like talks are on again. Would make it an interesting market for the US if this were to happen.

Wow, if this goes through I wonder what will happen to Comair and Skywest and commuters like that. Wouldn't it be cool if Comair brought in some 737/ A320 series ships and began solo :P.

That's was she said.:P
Anyways, Delta would be crazy to go through with this. Both of their smaller airlines fly into ATW. I just want to keep them separate from each other. Why is it always the small ones being sucked into everything in the airline business. Midwest was almost bought out by AirTran:thumbdown:.

I doubt it will happen. The legislation will prevent two majors merging unless one was in serious debt and it was saving a market.

Delta denied all thoughts about a merger with United but personally if they did I think it would save a market. In my opinion United has had alot of problems more than any other airline.

Delta, United deny merger talks
George Raine, Chronicle Staff Writer

Thursday, November 15, 2007

Delta Air Lines and United Airlines threw cold water on a news report Wednesday that the two are engaged in merger talks, although Delta said its board has established a committee to analyze "strategic options," including potential consolidation.

The Associated Press reported Wednesday morning that merger talks between the two are under way and said "there is a sense of urgency" to them. The AP quoted an unidentified source who said, "They want to get something done before a new administration gets in and so they get the clock ticking on" federal regulatory approval.

Delta replied in a statement, "There have been no talks with United regarding any type of consolidation transaction and there are no such ongoing discussions." United spokeswoman Jean Medina said, "We do not respond to wholly inaccurate statements made by people who claim to have knowledge when they clearly do not."
