Jesrey Airways Expands Fleet
Jersey Airways (flyBe) has expanded its fleet to three turboprop aircraft following a good start to its flying career. It took delivery of it's third aircraft, a Dornier 328 in a ceremony at the beginning of May. The Chief Executive Tom Cruikshank had this to say:
This is a great achievment for our airline having only been operating for 1 month. I am ecstatic abotu this purchase, the longer range and higher payload of this aircraft has enabled us to transfer our Paris flights as well as open a new flight to Rome. We plan to exercise our 10 options we have with Dornier in the near future.

FLYBE ends German and Irish Flights
Following an aircraft pruchase, to trim costs, Jersey Airways has terminated its Hamburg, Dublin, Belfast and Manchester prices stating that more populr routes such as Rome can now have higher frequencies. This comes as a major blow to Hamburg as this was the only link available from Birmingham. CEO Tom Cruikshank said this:
It is regrettable that we had to terminate these routes but it seemed the most sensible thing to do considering higher profits are available from other areas. It has enabled us to increase frequencies both within the Uk and continentally. This is not a major loss to Birmingham considering that three of the four routes closed are served comprehensively by other airlines. We plan to re-instate the Manchester route in the near future, this was closed simply to make use of the spare slots we hold at Birmingham

Jersey Airways Ends Helinski Services in favour of Newcastle frquencies
Jersey Airways ended all services between Helinski and Birmingham and chose instead to concentrate on increasing frequency on services such as Amsterdam and Newcastle. Tom Cruikshank said this :
"It is regrettable that we had to end this service but in the cut throat aviation business, the Helinksi service was not justified when more profit and more passengers can be found by increasing current service frequencies, such as Amsterdam ,which now has 5 daily services

Jersey Airways Expands Fleet
Birmingham based Jersey Airways has just taken delivery of another aircraft after signing a deal with the defunct Nexus. Nexus went bankrupt last month after difficulties and problems with the law, although the Jersey Airways deal was done strictly by the book. Another aicraft is set to join the fleet in the coming months and they will be used on the more flexible routes, particularly within the United Kingdom. A brand new Bombardier Q400 has also been ordered and will join the fleet next month. A new service between Nice and Bimringham has been inagurated by the airline as well, which links up with routes operated by it's fellow alliance member Euro International. Frequencies have also been increased on the Copenhagen and Manchester routes. CEO Tom Cruikshank said this:
"It has been a whirlwind month for us and Jersey Airways is set to do extrememly well in the coming months. I once said the beecjh aircraft will be phased out; i now retract that statement, the Beeches will aid our expansion. The Q400 is ideal for our operations, given the lower availability of Birmingham gates. We are also in talks with Airbus to acquire A32S series aircraft as well as Boeing for their equivalent. We are also close to signing a deal for Saab and Embraer aircraft

Jersey Airways Restructures: No more EDI, NCL or LTN
Yesterday, Birmingham based Jersey Airways announced the closure of all bases except Birmingham. The airline dramatically reduced its fleet and upgraded all Birmingham services to the premier aircraft in the fleet:
" We regret to have to close these bases, but the airline could not expand while still operating dated aircraft and the cost of operating four bases was crippling. The EDI base will eventually be re-opened, using more a modern and environmentally friendy fleet. The closure means we can improve the service for Birmingham passengers, our desired base. All passengers booked on our flights from our old HUBs have been transferred onto a different airline at no cost to them

Jersey Airways re-opens EDI base, days after closure
Jersey Airways restr=arted the majority of flights from Edinburgh Turnhouse Airport yesterday. Tom Cruikshank said this:
The acquisition of two new Saab aircraft and the unsuccessful sale of our two Dornier Aircraft enables us to restart this base, something which I am delighted about. This means we can serve the United Kingdom as a whole, and means we can continue to serve this important city, with many flights per day. We will also increase capacity with the arrival of new aircraft in the cpming months
