Seriously Considers Marring Delta Air Lines

In the next iteration of AE, whenever that may come to fruition, it would be nice to be able to run profitable EAS / commuter airlines. One element to many of the EAS airlines was multi-stop routes such as outlined in the attached image. Great Lakes Aviation in the United States would run routes like this, sometimes on behalf of larger airlines. Examples of this would be a route originating in Los Angeles and terminating in Denver with stops in Kingman, AZ and Telluride, CO. Passengers could pay just to fly on any combination of these legs. A passenger traveling from Kingman to Telluride may pay a fare of $70, while a passenger traveling from Kingman to Denver may pay a fare of $140, etc. The entire LAX to DEN route could then compete with nonstops, albeit being less attractive due to the 2 stops, and likely more uncomfortable, smaller airplane. When a passenger gets to DEN or LAX they could then connect onto a larger carrier with an interline agreement to travel farther, etc.

The way demand is artificially created in the game worlds now, this would be unfeasible. It would nice to be able to run this type of operation. This would be separate from routes with a technical or fuel stop (ie ATL to ATH via SHN), as these multi stop flights would draw from passenger and travel demand.

Let me know what you think,

I support this idea, but I think it is unlikely this game will receive another update.

There is a way you could do something like that. You would need to make basically every airport a hub. This vastly improves the pax flow around your network & with enough aggregate daily pax, you can fill planes with "connecting" passengers (blue pax) even when there is zero actual demand (green pax) between 2 airports. Some players call this "spamming". I call it opportunity.

It reminded me of the Island Hopper route between Guam and Honolulu operated by United Airlines.

It stops at various airports along the route. People hop on and off like if they were on a bus.

It would encourage and support the use of small, low demand airports more when setting up routes.
