I am currently in 2001, having a 10k routes to myself and wondering what would be the most profitable to cover the route. I have been thinking about the 744D, but should i wait for the A380 and using more twins in the meantime?
Things to consider are distance of the route, turn-around times, route demand across the different cabin classes and current or future potential competition.
I have sometimes found myself struggling to make decent profit utilising 747s and A380s on short high-demand routes even with no competition.
Personally, I find the A321/Ns to do the trick or A330/350s and B787s.

epending on the distance of the route
Thanks for the recommendation! I see myself losing a lot of cash operating the 744Ds. Now i am currently still at 2002 and waiting for the 787 to be launched, what should i use to cover the route in the mean time, with the route under 1000 miles and considering between the 773 and the A333

Just order 767-300ER, it´s flexible as hell, has ideal capacity, fuel efficent so it´s ideal for such routed .
Otherwise if you want to keep frequencies "low" you can order A330 or if you don´t have the cash yet the A340-300, just look what asian airlines are doing.
