hello, i was curious to know if there is any way to drop fuel consumption on planes that dont let you add winglets, particularly smaller models, as fuel can account for well over a third of any airlines costs.

This is based on the real world, I don't think that's an option.

Given that the whole point is that they are less efficient, due to that actually being the case, I see this is rather unlikely to have ever been considered.
