Having finally decided that I would put a bit of time into trying to do it 'right,' I present my first ever livery for my current German based carrier, Himmelbahn. In theory, it's supposed to be from the mid 90s but I know that typeface is probably too modern.

It looks really lovely!  My assumption is that it's a German sort of airline, considering the red and yellow.  I do like the cheatline, very 90s indeed.  The only thing that puts me off is the large titles; I think they could be somewhat smaller.  

 

EDIT: Whoops, I didn't see the part where it said "my current German based carrier".  My bad.

I would make the font smaller and maybe add some smaller details like registration and stuff but this is a decent start

I made the titles smaller and added a registration and the plane's name. The name translates according to Google as Spirit of Speed. I decided to put it on a splashy background just for fun. Are there any other suggestions?

Compress the titles a bit more. And the tail design looks straight off Laudas livery. Isn't a bad start, though.

So it's around 2002 in my game world now and to be perfectly honest the livery wasn't great and looked severely dated so here's my more modern (semi-eurowhite) take utilizing the magic of GIMP's path tool to make curves. I like it but it looks a little off to me and I'm not sure why. Any thoughts?

I like that a lot!  I think the red curve starts to act up a little bit and adopt a straighter line than the yellow, making it look a little bit weird.

So I tried to re-draw the curves of the tail and make the white gap between the two colours a bit more wide. I'm not sure if this helped but do tell me what you think.

I really like this Lauda Air kind of style in the MD-11!!! I think it really fits the plane well. Only flaw is maybe the font doesn't really fit
