What is your dream Alliance?

Personally I find it a pity that every single Alliance has a mixture of great and worse than mediocre airlines. Just consider Star Alliance which on the one hand includes Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand:sdrool: , on the other hand has members like Varig or United:( (or even Lufthansa, for that matter). Oneworld is not much better: I quite like Cathay Pacific:shappy: and I guess Finnair, Qantas and BA are ok, but Iberia and Aer Lingus:cry: ? So here is my current dream team:
South America: TAM, LAN Chile
North America: American (although, don't know the US market well enough to know which airline to prefer there).
Europe: SN Brussels, Swiss, Finnair, maybe TAP Portugal
Africa: South African Airways, maybe Kenya Airways
Middle East: maybe Etihad, maybe ?
Asia: Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Asiana, ANA
Oceania: Air New Zealand, Air Tahiti Nui, maybe Qantas
So what would your dream team look like? I look forward to hearing what others think

Talking about Oneworld alliance, I think you are not really into European airlines... Iberia covers the whole South American market from Europe, being a leader there, and that is why BA is both its shareholder and its partner. It really have a sense to include Iberia into the alliance, even if the on board service is not as high standard as BA´s one (I really don´t how it is in the rest of Oneworld airlines).
On the other hand, I don´t see the point of getting in an alliance with SN, Swiss or TAP, the three of them risking bankruptcy every day, and without a clear market where they could have a leadership position.
I think that Oneworld is the perfect alliance, only lacking a Middle East airline, that could be Emirates, and an African one (SAA is my favourite). With that they would have almost everything!

Aer Lingus are leaving OneWorld. Another stupid decision, but stupid descisions and Aer Lingus seem to match perfectly!

Just have Continental, a stronger CO Mike, and Emirates, and that would be just fine.

What can I say , all they need is a middle eastern airline. And with Air China in . (Could you imagine what would happen if United and Continental merged?... Most likely keeping the United name, but I doubt they would leave SA.) That would be cool. Maybe more traffic to my local airport, Denver.

The Star Alliance seems the best to me, but they are so freaking large it might as well be the "For Every Airline Who Wants Another Logo Next To Their Name Alliance"

in the event that a mideast airline (emirates, gulf, qatar, or ethihad), BA, a budget US carrier, qantas, and cathay pacific (maybe thrown in Ethiopian too)could pull together an alliance by some maraculous feat few other airlines could hope to compete.

I would take One World but add Alaska Airlines to the alliance as well. I think One World is a fantastic allaince in that it doesn't overlap much where Star for example in my opinion has too many members.

hmmm..
South America: TAM, LAN Chile
North America: American, US Airways
Europe: BA, Iberia, Lufthansa
Africa: Ethiopian and South African
Middle East: Emirates (not other real choice there!! )
Asia: Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, JAL
Oceania: Qantas, Air New Zealand.
That would cover if not all, but most regions and major airports and give a comprehensive route alliance network i think

That would be the prefect alliance if it included any of the Gulf airlines (I would personally choose Etihad, but any of them is ok).
