Willkommen.

Lufthansa is approaching Avion to introduce a new livery. The livery could be either new or revised and the existing logo may be used or a new logo may be introduced. Interested designers may submit their pitches in this thread on or before February 3, 2018 including a logo, a livery and as much material as you want.

(According to multiple sources LH is rumored to reveal a revised livery on Feb 7th so this is like a final party before school starts type of deal. If you have any question ask me on discord in my maisonette channel or the generic AE discord.)

- Liveries will be competing against LH's existing livery and my pitch

Mid-challenge rules clarification:

-Yes you can update your entry up until voting starts, whatever I start the votes with is whatever it is.

- No you don't have to keep every or any element of the current LH brand, just the name, mostly. (I'm not saying you can't change the name but I wouldn't and I'm pretty sure it'll only go badly.)

Ok, my take.

 

The basic idea comes from the roots of Lufthansa, with the silver fuselage taking its inspiration from the metallic Junkers. The trademark yellow is still there, a nod to the 1950s livery, most graciously displayed on the Lockheed, and the blue is replaced by a more German black.

 

The fuselage silver slowly fades to a bright white, the yellow is present on the aircraft belly to underline the airlines' heritage, the logo and the tail, as well as the engines (on the mainline fleet), are painted black as an hommage to the first livery. The engine nacelle colour is different for the various components of the group.

The tacky 'lufthansa.com' is absent, yet the mainline aircrafts still bear a maiden name, displayed by the front boarding door.

The iconic crane remains untouched.

The font is, for the first time in almost 50 years, updated. Helvetica is replaced by Clan.
