The title says it all. Why is this? How can I fix it?
I'm gaining little daily profit, but I have no competition and demand is extremely high.

If you're talking about Rd, the world is just starting, of course you don't have competition. Pretty soon things are going to change.
You're not earning anything yet, wait until it starts.

Without screenshots, numbers, or descriptions of what aircraft you're flying, nobody is going to take you seriously.

Perhaps you need IFS or IFE on your planes?

Post some info about what you are operating (routes, planees and cabin config). I'm also new to the game but here is what I basically did to start:
Bought a few smaller planes (Q300 and RJ's) and opened routes that could do a lot of daily trips. I didn't worry about IFE at first. I leased all my planes to keep my finances higher. Once you have a few good routes going with those lower cost planes you can look into larger, popular routes. You may want to open google maps and just look at some major cities overseas that other players may not fly to. I've had success with Toronto YYZ to Barcelona BCN and also Toronto YYZ to Madrid MAD.
Once you can afford the longer haul planes (An Airbus A330 as an example) you can make daily profits in the $500K to over $1,000,000. I just made sure I had my smaller routes figured out so I could have a steady and reliable profit coming through, which I found really important in getting the expensive long-range planes.
If you are North America Based, here are some decent overseas spots to consider:
-London (Heathrow and Gatwick)
-Paris
-Madrid
-Amsterdam
-Hong-Kong
-Shanghai
-Tokyo
-Rome
If you are based in the UK or Europe here are North American Options:
-New York (JFK, La Guardia)
- Washington (Raegan, Dulles)
-Atlanta
-Houston
-Dallas
-Los Angeles
-San Francisco
-Toronto
-Montreal
-Vancouver
-Denver
-Chicago

If it's high demand and you are the only one operating, raise the price of a ticket.
