B757 time

The CEO of Australis finally revealed earlier this month that the B757-300 was chosen to become the next member in the Australis fleet. With this announcement, 2 brand new B757-300 from Boeing arrived early morning into Madrid ready to be deploy on routes.

The B757-300, was revealed, would be used to increase current capacity on current routes while also connect newer destinations to Madrid and London Heathrow. Beforehand, the biggest aircraft for European routes was there A321-100. However, the B757-300 will give Australis some flexibility across its routes.

More B757-300s?..

Australis' insiders have been hinting at that the CEO is very pleased with the 3 B757-300s within the Australis' fleet and that he wished to order more in the coming months to expand the growing Australis network.

However, one insider, which didnt want to be name due to concerns over his safety ( ) revealed that the CEO has plans for around 40-50 B757-300s joining the fleet and that it wouldnt be only to open new routes, however, to consolidate and increase seats on current routes to suffice demand.

While, the CEO keeps denying this rumours as "utter gossip" and "some employee's dream plans for Australis".

Riding with the A319...

Australis welcomed the 10th A319 to the fleet. The A319s have become the latest fleet type to join the fleet but however, have fleet commonality with the A320/A321s and have proven to be a true workhorse on certain routes from London Heathrow and Madrid.

While more A319s may be expected sooner rather than later, the CEO revealed that the airline is however considering purchasing more B757s and A333s soon too, which in no doubt would replace the A320-200s and A321-100s on some routes and allow those displaced aircraft to open, new routes from Madrid and London Heathrow.

The CEO discussed this at a media conference @ Madrid:
"Our plan over the coming year or so is to increase our B757 and A333 fleets so that we are able to effectively provide the necessary capacity and equipment on already served routes or newer ones aswell. We expect to have large fleets of both types and thus, be able to meet any challenge that may arise."

100th aircraft for Australis

Last month, Australis welcomed its 100th aircraft into the fleet, a A319-100 which was used to fly transatlantic from London Heathrow. Currently, 105 aircraft in the fleet, demonstrating that Australis is one of the biggest airlines in Europe and in the world and that is it actively increasing its fleet to be able o cater for newer routes.

"We are very pleased of this achieve today, considering that we are a loyal Airbus customer and has taken only 3 years to has this massive and impressive fleet. Our customer should be congratulated aswell due to continual support, as they constantly fly with Australis and have welcomed our increasing route network, giving them more direct routes with Australis.

However, we wont stop here. We plan to continue our fleet and route growth. We still have plenty of routes which Australis will be either opening up and increase capacity to allow for more passengers to fly with us. We are working on this and we will become reality very soon..."

Hmmm...I personally think A319s are a better aircraft than the 737-600s.

Asia's becoming quite a hellhole these days, at least the Euros and Americans got enough cities to make a hub there...and Asia's becoming a dumping ground for airlines outside Asia - because they're out of gates!

MSP welcomes... Australis!!

Late last month, Australis finally announced that is was the mysterious airline that built a 40 gate terminal @ Minneapolis St. Paul. In a lavish ceremony @ MSP airport, the CEO of Australis with employees and passengers of Australis enjoyed this welcomed news and were overjoyed at the prospect of more Australis flights @ MSP.

"Today, we have established that we wish to make MSP an Australis' gateway. This new terminal, will allow passengers to travel with us throughout the US with ease and have easier connections times while having plenty of things to do here. Also, this will allow us to increase our flights throughout the US, Canada, Mexico and the Carribean for the time been. We can only get stronger ".

The CEO of Australis revealed also that he expects more B757-300s to arrive soon, but without a determined timeframe and without mention of where exactly, the B757-300s would be based at. Though, the CEO did say that the underlining objective is to increase capacity at all the markets we are in.

An Australis Update...

Australis over the past month has been going along with business, with the CEO been quiet as ever and going back to working on establishing newer routes from Madrid, London-Heathrow, Minneapolis St. Paul and... Stockholm!

Yes, the CEO confirmed a couple of months back that Australis had built a 40 gate terminal @ Stockholm to serve Sweden to Europe and the world. Though progress has been slow, the CEO made it quite clear that soon, Australis would dramatically increased routes from Stockholm and hopefully based an all-jet fleet, thus replacing the current Q400s based there....

Also, in the other side of the atlantic, it is believed Australis has sourced out available spots at certain airports across the US to fly to and will do so, shortly. Yet again, the CEO hinted that the main focus now for Australis was to increase its A320 and B753 fleet to fly these routes...

Finally, with these new announcements, Australis is set to be well established and looking forward to a brighter and successful future...

After a couple of years in the wilderness due to personal reasons, the CEO of Australis returned a few months ago and has regathered a struggling airline and continues to make sure Australis provides a great service to passengers around the world.

Australis due to expansion in at certain airports around Europe and North America, has reduced its presence at Madrid-Barajas Airport but will however continue to serve Madrid on hub routes. While, the CEO is continously looking out for new markets to enter and provide customers with a comprehensive route structure from that airport.

"Fleet wise... we are moving as fast as possible to replace older Q400, A319, A320, A321 and B757-300s with newer A320s. So far we have managed to do so, however money is a limited resource and thus, we are working to maximising our returns while waiting for more A320s. For the moment, we are focused on increase our A320 fleet."

A320 Action!!

There has been non-stop A320 action as more and more A320s continue to arrive for Australis from Airbus and TWA, as Australis strives to reduce fleet types while maintaining continual growth from its current hubs.At the present moment, with a fleet of 178 A320s, Australis has one of the largest Airbus narrowbody fleets in the world.

"We believe that the A320 is a great aircraft and very versatile for the different routes we curently have. Of course, having different types helps, but when ur trying to operate from a hub, i think having an A320 usually not only helps increase capacity, but allows for the potential growth one expects form a hub."

While, the CEO mentioned briefly of other plans for Australis...
"At this moment, we are still focused on open new routes with these A320s that will eventually be delivered via TWA, who we made an agreement with. However, we also have other needs such as more long-haul equipment, especially the A330-300 and thus, we will be looking at obtaining then in the near future..."

Currently, Australis is the #1 @ ARN, MCI, MKE and LIN serving 193 cities from 5 main hubs with a fleet of 334 aircraft.
