I had a genius idea.
The way to solve the problems of "A trillion dollars that does nothing in game" is to have convertible cash.
If you are tired of running your current airline, you just sell it. You put a list price based on your valuation (You can adjust above or below), and if someone accepts, they buy the airline. Then, you have an option to either run the airline separately or merge. Buying an airline will not add to your airlines, so you can buy as many as you want.
Once it is sold (Say you sell "East Airlines" for $1 Billion to "West Airlines") , the money is stored in world. You can use that money to start any airline in that world. So instead of starting with the 7.5 million, you start with an amount of money out of the stored money (Up to 100M). The money goes away at the end of three months in real life. Along with this I would suggest being able to buy another airline (I had two, sold one, then made another one and bought an extra airline slot).
However. After selling your airline you cannot use that name in your next airline (East Airways, sold to West, starts up East Airways).
This way, you can buy/sell airlines, merge airlines, and have a bit more fun. It might be implemented, and I think it should be. If not, I believe you may be missing out on a great crowd-pleaser.
Thank you!
