What routes will American/US Air release with all these new planes coming into their combined network?? Give the community your opinion! Please separate your fantasies from things that will probably happen. Personally, I think we'll see some serious AsiaPac expansion with the 788/A359 as well as some "connect the dots" with MIA and LAX in the coming months.

ROUTES THAT WILL PROBABLY HAPPEN:

International Routes (probably going to be announced soon)

  • LAX-AKL (its a no-brainer, but i don't think ORD-AKL or anything to SYD wil
  • LAX-CAN (no OW to CAN)
  • PHX-NRT
  • PHL-NRT (I can imagine all the OW-ers in the Northeast using this)

These domestic ones just make sense:

  • LAX-MCI
  • LAX-MEX
  • LAX-DTW (please add some competition!!)
  • LAX-PDX
  • DFW/LAX-GEG (seems like a good point to expand PNW customer base)
  • CLT-SJC
  • Something to Montana...interesting how the airline that has the US flag on the back of all its (new) planes doesn't fly to all 49 serviceable states :/  (not counting DE beacuse no one in tehir right mind should serve Wilmington...I'm honestly surprised Tampa worked (in my opinion, any city in America (and many in Canada) can take a few MCO flights a week XD )...
  • Something to Africa- Maybe MIA-LOS/JNB LOS in conjunction with Arik Air (starting them towards OW :P ; JNB with BA/Comair (to help OW connections into South Africa besides LHR/DOH) or JFK/PHL-CMN (JFK if RAM goes to *A, PHL in conjunction with RAM if they go to OW or stay unaligned)

ROUTES I'D LIKE TO HAPPEN:

  • DFW/LAX/maybe ORD-OAK (cant let WN win  :rofl2: )
  • CLT-NRT (please, please God/Dougie Parker)
  • CLT-GRU/GIG (why'd they take them?? This made all us #avgeeks in the CLT/NC community mad :tantrum: )
  • MIA-more Columbia
  • PHX-2 more major Asia (ICN/PEK (in conjunction with Hainan?)/ NRT??)
  • CLT-HNL (this route was AMAZING for those of us in NC :D )
  • BOS-LHR restart
  • CLT-FCO year-round
  • MIA/CLT-TLV (make it the leading American carrier into TLV)

I don't think it'll happen, but JFK - ORK would be nice. BFS flights could be just around the corner too...

Likely profitable

DFW -> DMV

DFW -> JNB

DFW/JFK -> DEL [Lets get some flights to India!]

Iffy -

DFW -> NAN - This could grow Fiji Airways (Also may hurt Fiji Airways's U.S demand)

DFW -> PPT - Grow Air Tahiti Nui (They're losing money cause they be $$$$$)

JFK -> CMB - Provide a connection to OneWorld partner SriLankan

Also -

DFW - PEK

ORD - ICN

LAX - IST

Just a speculation.   ;)

DFW-PEK will start soon! :D

DFW-JNB? You joking? There's not even an aeroplane capable of doing that.

DFW/JFK-DEL. India is incredibly low yielding. Tried ex-ORD, extremely unlikely to happen again.

NAN, PPT and CMB are utterly ridiculous suggestions.

ROUTES THAT WILL PROBABLY HAPPEN:

International Routes (probably going to be announced soon)

  • LAX-AKL (its a no-brainer, but i don't think ORD-AKL or anything to SYD will Unlikely, relatively long, thin route, competition, no feed on the AKL end.
  • LAX-CAN (no OW to CAN) Possible, low yielding however, may not be AA's bread and butter.
  • PHX-NRT Unlikely, doubt the Phoenix economy is strong enough for an Asia link.
  • PHL-NRT (I can imagine all the OW-ers in the Northeast using this) Very plausible, JL may be more likely however.

These domestic ones just make sense:

  • LAX-MCI
  • LAX-MEX Impossible, US/Mexico bilateral disallows.

Would likely require a 77L, 789 may be do-able.

  • MIA-more Columbia
  • PHX-2 more major Asia (ICN/PEK (in conjunction with Hainan?)/ NRT??) Unlikely for the reasons explained above.
  • CLT-HNL (this route was AMAZING for those of us in NC  :D )
  • BOS-LHR restart Better off leaving it to BA.
  • CLT-FCO year-round
  • MIA/CLT-TLV (make it the leading American carrier into TLV)

Actually the A350 and A380 could fly DFW -> JNB (A350) http://www.a350xwb.c...specifications/  (A380) http://www.airbus.co...ly/performance/

Also DFW -> DEL is being looked into by Air India :) http://www.bizjourna...7.html?page=all

Although yes Pacific Islands will probably never happen and I can live with a stop in LA.

Thanks boo boo

JNB - Theoretical range is something entirely different to realistic range.

DEL - You were talking about AA, not AI. Whilst I too doubt AI would materialise, they'd have a much better shot at making it work.

Well there's certainly an obvious answer to each of those routes, sadly AA and indeed FI aren't involved.

None, cos AA are rubbish. Unless you fly Jetblue or Virgin America, America is a bad place to go for people from elsewhere to travel. The European carriers should take them.

Lel never. they have codeshares with carriers to get people to those destinations.

your knowledge of the aviation industry is pitiful.

Oh sweetie, stop being jealous hag. You hurt yourself later. Also, codeshare doesn't close the opportunity for AA to have direct flight to any of those cities. The only pitiful thing here is either your maturity or your view on how people should run Realistic Airlines while you have several Spamlines on your own.

Too bad, LAX-DXB would be dominated solely by Emirates, it would be nice to see a bit of competition though.

I think the demand for PPT or NAN would be too small. It's pretty far away from Dallas, PPT is around 5000 miles while NAN is around 6600 miles. The only aircraft I see able to do these routes is A330-200. But even with that, it's still a bit too big for the demand. I would say LAX would be the best start point for destinations in Oceania.

Also DFW-JNB would be nice, but no airplane apart from B777-200LR could fly that further.
