If you had an airline, where would it be base, which aircraft, etc. My airline would be based in St. Lucia, WI operating a fleet of ATR 72-600's and ATR 42-600's for regional routes. We will have one or 2 Embraer 170's for longer routes to Jamaica and Miami. We will have hubs in Trinidad, Barbados, St Lucia, Antigua and San Juan. Destinations include: Georgetown (Guyana), Trinidad, Tobago, Curacao, Aruba, Grenada, St. Vincent, Barbados, St. Lucia, Martinique, Dominica, Guadeloupe, Antigua, St. Kitts, Nevis, St. Maarten, Anguilla, Beef Island, St. Croix, St. Thomas, San Juan, Santa Domingo, Punta Cana, Providenciales, Kingston (Jamaica), Grand Cayman and Miami. We will offer free snacks and drinks on board and food for purchase. No entertainment (short flights). It sounds a lot like LIAT but much better on time performance and better, happier staff and an overall better airline. What will yours be like?

First, I would start my airline using a small Cessna Grand Caravan on charter model , operating interstate flights in my native state of Gujarat, India. Then , scale up ops and operate 20-30 seats aircraft for both Charter and scheduled flights . Then, after a good balance sheet , start schedule only services and I would procure 3-5 ATRs or Dash 8 on lease. Scaling up ops further till first Jet like B737 or A320 arrives . Follow a hybrid low cost model ( would be highly successful in India) . Then expand to international market when domestic market is strong enough to balance the initial unprofitability on international routes. If all goes well, Long Hauls with complete full service would be next target :)

I'd spam Waterford. Have a fleet of 5 ATR 42/72s, tender for the Kerry - Dublin PSO and get guaranteed profits. Fly it, as well as Kerry - Manchester/ Liverpool. On top if this, Waterford - Luton, Manchester/ Liverpool, Birmingham, Prestwick and probably Cork - Luton.

Id fly Domestic routes in Canada between small airports like YQL-YYZ or YMM-YUL or YXH-YVR using The Bombardier CS Series Aircraft.

If I (or a family member) were win the lottery and get 1-2 Mil, I'd get my PPL and a single engine 5-7 Seater (Maybe something like a old Beaver or Otter) or thereabouts and see about doing a air taxi service from CYKF, it's like $90-$100 to get a ground taxi to CYYZ and it would be like a 1 hour or so drive so depending on what I get and how well it is on fuel, fuel prices, ETC., I should be able to hopefully compete with the ground taxis, $90-100 and get from YKF-YYZ in half the time if not less than the ground taxis and enjoy the view enroute instead of enjoying traffic on the 401.
