What is going on in Virgin Atlantic?
Is a simple mechanical oops to blame or are there deeper issues within
the British budget carrier that they are blaming on the coincidental
acts of God?
Incident-
Took off in an otherwise normal fashion.
Encountered an issue with their landing gear aboard a 747.
One of the five bogies fails to extend on landing.
Cause: Unknown, but possibly awful maintenance practices. Or an act of God.
What is your opinion?

It must also be noted that Virgin Group CEO Richard Branson allegedly has a close relationship with AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandes. Of course, AirAsia recently lost one of its aircraft due to unfortunate and probably completely accidental circumstances. Could this bad luck be spreading to Virgin Atlantic?
I can only believe that this has to to do with Virgin's horrific maintenance record of their 747 fleet. Which means that Virgin is the most unsafe airline even passing AirAsia.

Virgin Atlantic is one of the world's best airlines with a pretty good safety record, and will continue to be well into the future.

Virgin Atlantic really never managed to make any money. He never could break into the US and spent too much time and money trying . Branson should of stuck to selling phone time , and running his recording studio

Anyways, Virgin have an outstanding maintenance history however no matter how much you look after a plane, they all end up have niggles from their age and this was one of them, unfortunately a rather mahusive niggle but a niggle nevertheless. 14 years old is enough to cause this, simple as. Air Asia is a different situation due to their high incident rates and known for poor maintenance. the Air Asia issue is also a completely destroyed aircraft with no survivors, this is simply a landing gear issue on a holiday jet with an emergency landing that made the headlines as it closed the worlds busiest runway for over 2 hours

Maintence most likely virgin already lost a aircraft in virgin galactic and rich people lost bookings seeing space!

Galactic and Atlantic are not even related apart from a name. Especially on maintenance of all things.

In my opinion that everybody obviously gives a s*** about, I think VS's complete inability to make money is affecting its ability to properly maintain its planes. It's only a matter of time before one of their planes falls out of the sky.
