Hola AE,

 

All too often, particularly more recently, I am sure I am not alone in having walked into

the chat room to a full on row between a number of members with massive ,often very

offensive abuse being thrown between parties and disgusting language being used repeatedly

just to aggravate the argument. While we have a fair few moderators, 9 times out of 10 there are

no active moderators to deal with the issue and its all over by the time they do arrive by which time

someone feels very hurt and in a number of cases I have seen members stop entering the chatroom

anymore to avoid it happening again or even leaving AE completely, which is not fair on anybody.

 

Since I am in the chatroom most of the day every day, often when there are no moderators around

or at least none that can be bothered to respond to the situation, I am proposing becoming a

moderator myself, after many members have told me I should.

 

I would not penalize people for letting the odd word slip out or anything too minor however

would like to prevent these blazing arguments from happening, such as the one that happened

just half an hour ago.

Overlooking Kai's warning points, he is quite a responsible member (most of the time). He's around all the time, he generally doesn't get involved in arguments and has quite a good history with other members. I see little reason to vote no.

Might I add a couple of points in this [not to criticize Kai, but to make things clear about becoming a moderator]:

 

1) There is no such thing as voting on a moderator, people become Moderators on AE because (a) Yuxi nominates them by some queer way or ( They prove themselves in an event to have the cool head of a moderator [e.g. Fierce].

 

2) I said a couple of points, so I have to have a #2

AE moderators are appointed on an invitation-only basis, so there's no point campaigning in the forums.
