I've suddenly found myself wondering...if I place a large pre-end date order of a given aircraft, does the order "expire" at the end of production?  Or does it stay in place as long as the order exists?

(i.e. If I placed a large order of...to be silly, let's say, Concordes in 2002 and punted delivery, could I arrange to take delivery of those planes in 2015?)

Unfortunately, yes. This tends to happen when airlines take a liking to outdated and banned 4 engined turboprops, or the Cl-44. I've seen orders of them in 1985, but I'd be quite certain they'd go later (these exit production in 1970).

Thanks for the info (and quick response).  I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to lose a massive block of deposit on a schedule overrun order.
