Despite sounding like a fish with Down's Syndrome, I agree that we should restrict the use of Tupolevs, Ilyushins, etc. to the Communist Bloc and friendly nations, and visa versa.

Of course, till 1991?

This would be interesting, I would like to see how this would be implemented :P

What is it you'd be restricting though, the purchase or the use of Soviet aircraft in the US? :P

I'd imagine both. Well, maybe not outright ban, per se. Just make the cost of purchasing and maintaining (because import duties and parts availability) these aircraft prohibitively high. This of course would apply to both sides of the Iron Curtain.

I don't like this idea because it's suggested by the troll.

But seriously, you can't even implement EU open sky correctly and you're talking about aircraft restriction here? C'mon, get "real".

Unnecessary realism complexity (such as DAL restrictions) has been a constant source of confusion for newbies.

It would also be fair to go will all the restrictions throughout history since there are also countries that are not allowed to buy western aircraft like Iran and Syria today. There would be tons of research required but it would make the game more interesting.

It brings a lot of realism, but it also brings a lot of research and programming I imagine. :P

I do not support, seeing as it removes a small bit of freedom from the player. If the aircraft are in the ordering list, you should be able to buy them. If not, players might and will feel even more restricted than they already are.

I think Issac1709 has a point,  only 1 or 2 worlds that has that extra bit of realism while we wait for AE4 would be a nice addition the current game worlds

That WOULD be rather annoying for the developers do implement something rather difficult and stressful just for one or two worlds :/

Thread cleaned, keep it on topic and civil people

Anyhow, I support a restriction like this it's extremely annoying to try and run an eastern bloc airline with soviet aircraft when your competitors are spamming 747s.

If possible it could be limited to politcally restricted worlds (as it is a form of political restriction) and not implemented in the O worlds. Just a compromise suggestion between those who want it and those who don't :P

BURRRRRN.
I support this I suppose, restrict spamming while implementing something plausible. Still won't stop the Tu-114 and Cl-44 though <_< .
