Maybe thats how I should have worded it then. Haha. I totally understand that some countries just aren't capable of handling just domestic airlines.
Thank God you finally made difference between long haul flights and international flights... Could you imagine how many in game years would it take to establish good airline in Serbia relying on domestic service first??? With only 2 operational airports and demand of only 5 pax between them...
I think this topic should be renamed to "Airline Requirements Before Intercontinental Service Starts"...

There's a brand new airline only running Newark-De Gaulle called La Compagnie, so it isn't impossible for an international-only airline to get going. Paperwork-heavy? Probably. A "modern" development (post-Cold War, for example)? Probably. But not impossible, at least depending on the era...
...and let's not forget that for the longest time, IIRC BOAC was the "international" airline for the UK with little or no "domestic" business.

That was before airlines were designed for profit. But as you have said, there's OpenSkies going CDG - JFK, I think it's a BA subsidiary....and let's not forget that for the longest time, IIRC BOAC was the "international" airline for the UK with little or no "domestic" business.

Intercontinental requirement is a ridiculous idea. That would prohibit the starting of longer routes to raise capital, which is really bad. I also think we should add air taxi and executive carriers to AE. These will fly small planes from small airports, and charges higher prices than conventional airlines, but the Air Taxi won't be ridiculous(£4790 for an hours flight)
