If anyone is interesting in trying any of the Paradox games, they have a Steam sale this weekend, with new bundles. They have Crusader Kings 2, Europa Universalis 4, Hearts of Iron 3, and Victoria 2 in a new bundle, and some of the indies games they've published are on sale, too. CK2 is also a free game this weekend.

So, kicking this off again, here's the story. The year is 1836 and the vote is decided, Scotland & Ireland are independent countries. 
For the moment, I keep close relations and an alliance with the crown, but in the future I will look to reform the Auld Alliance, and get the French to once again cross the strait and liberate our Gaelic Welsh brothers, aswell as the oppressed people of India!For strategic reasons I ally Portugal aswell.
It's time for Scotland to expand, and the European stage is too great for us, we should look outwards, using our alliance with the UK and Portugal we will seek to establish a Cape Colony of our own.
After about 2 years, three wars and a bit of luck with infamy the Scottish Cape Colony is set up, what do I do next, continue to focus on South Africa or turn my attention to some other part of Africa/ The World? You decide.

I can say that in the tpb exist a torrent of the east vs west game, i wont link it because maybe it break the rules of AE forums, it seems that it was released by 4chan

20 years has passed since last post, Scottish Cape has grown significantly, The Brits have created the puppet of South Africa, which gave them cores on land held by us Scots, to avoid conflict I gave away the lands with British cores on, and expanded north instead. I also rushed technology and was able to quickly colonize the Northern Cape, preventing the British from expanding upwards, Oranje was also created as a Scottish puppet, as a compromise for the Boers. Now my focus needs to be keeping Portugal weak, if I manage that I have more or less all of Southern Africa to myself.
The Scottish industry and infrastructure has also been improved significantly, and at the current Scotland has the 6th largest industry in the world. We're also one of the biggest producers of both glass and steam ships. A goal for the industry is to incorporate the colonial state and industrialise them, aswell as converting more of the population to craftsmen and clerks.
What do I do next?

Your industrialization seems to need a good source of raw materials. I'd personally suggest working your way over to Korea, if it still is independent. Java always is a good start for an industrial base, too.
