So, I had a thought in the shower today about how we could go about implementing aircraft that, as of now, are on the drawing board (which includes but is not limited to the 737MAX/A320neo, 787-10, 777X, etc, etc). Essentially, it would work in a similar fashion to the randomly generated launch date for aircraft in game. Manufacturers promise that Aircraft X will have a 5% fuel burn advantage over Aircraft Y, as well as a 10% range advantage. Now, similarly to how the system randomly generates a launch date for an aircraft in game, the game would also go about generating a random set of performance characteristics for a proposed aircraft, with an X% margin of error in either direction (ie: if Manufacturer A promises an X% reduction in fuel burn vs current aircraft, the system would generate a fuel flow number within Y% of X.).

Just a thought I had, curious to see what the plebeians have to say about it.

Yeah I think it'd make worlds that run past 2020 less pointless

I support this but I'm sure it has been suggested and rejected before, I hope that this finally comes to light with a more popular member posting...

Will anyone even bother doing this though? Yuxi was saying that he isn't as far along with AE4 because things kept on getting added. So I suppose it's the same in other departments... For example: http://www.airline-e...rk-in-progress/

I agree with this. With no more new aircraft coming online after 2017, worlds that go past that date become rather boring to play. The addition of this would significantly enhance 2030 worlds.

Why do we need game worlds to run past 2020 anyway?

I know this probably would be a lot of work but I agree it would be neat. Maybe even some prototype that never came to be. I would like to see various upgrades for planes maybe that dont currently exist also. The last thing to help adress people loosing interest in the late years....have a no sooner than date it will end and up to 10 additional year it randomly stops at. This will prevent senario abandoning before its over. I guess a world where not all the planes we know of come to market would really break those that get stuck behind people that use a standard system to always dominate. Thank you for listening

Would certainly love to see 787-10, 777-8X, 777-9X.

Wonder if people still order 747-8i if they can have 777-9X :P

I feel I can wait for them. Not the biggest fan of the new Boeing.
