I currently have around $50,000,000 and I currently lease all my aircraft.

 

Firstly, when should I start to but my aircraft instead of leasing (if so should I buy new or used aircraft).

 

Secondly, If I do start to buy my aircraft, Should I buy the aircraft I am currently leasing or replace them with newer aircraft ?

 

And lastly, what Is the best way to 'modernize' my fleet?

I buy my  aircraft once my cash exceeds 500-600 million and my DOP is at least 8 million. I keep a mix of leased and bought aircraft, and also buy new aircraft and buy my leased aircraft from the lessor until all my fleet is owned.

I almost never buy aircraft, leasing new aircraft is nearly always a better option, because I like to keep young fleets to maximise my airline rating, and buying aircraft is not a good idea if you're going to do this. Buying aircraft also is limited in that if there are many of the aircraft type you're selling on the market, you won't get as much money from selling it. But it's your call, because in the end, its your airline. Hope this helped

in the early stage of the game, you want to expand quickly, so leasing should be you best bet with such limited money.

 

then when you have enough money and you're happy with your expansion rate, you can buy your previously leased aircraft.

 

then when you have some money left and you want to expand a little bit more, buy used aircraft on the market

 

then later when you still have much more money than you know what to do with it, now you start buying new aircraft, buy in bulk, like 50 to get discount.

I personally prefer buying aircraft since it increases valuation. Although with 50 million i think you should stick with leasing planes. When you reach about 200-300 million then consider buying as it can increase your ranking.

I have about 3bn so I can comfortably order new aircraft, but like Amadeus it really depends on what A) what you want to do how much money you have
