Frdm920's Designs

Hey guys,

So I figured I'd post some of the liveries I've made here, they're definately not the best in the world (in part because I'm just starting out and I have an old version of Photoshop so it doesn't have all the features available to be able to follow the tutorial exactly ) but I'm reasonably happy with them and I hope you are too, and if you're not then please do tell me how I can improve!

 

So without further ado here are the liveries

 

Flug Deutschland 717-200

 

Air Finland DHC-8-400 (made as a request) please excuse the horrible engines that was an unfortunate side effect of the single-layer template I was using and my lack of skill

 

Mercury 777-200LR Purple/Blue and Red Version

Starting from the top done

 

Flug Deutschland

• I like stripe that I am okay with you made the size of it big enough so nothing needs to be at the base of the fuselage.
• The Coat of arms would look better if you removed the Yellow background.
• Maybe paint the engine?

 

Air Finland

• Nice design good color choice.
• The Logo might look better if you shrink it an you put it in the top back corner of the tail. (Not going out of edges)

 

Mercury

• Nice overall Idea
• Put a black pinstripe (very small line) between the white base and the color top.
• Needs something on the tail.

 

White Haven

• Best design
• Tail logo is awkwardly positioned
• The blue at the base of the fuselage come up to the center to much.

• Perhaps however as the German Coat of Arms is with the yellow background and I use the yellow background for my logo I think for consitencies sake I'll keep it
• It could work, I generally tend to leave engines unpainted because I'm lazy like that

• Alright, I'll keep that in mind for all future ones too
• Yeah these are the slightly older versions I haven't gotten around to putting the "Hg" on the tail of all of them yet/uploading them

• It's one of my favourite ones too.
• Agreed on that, originally I had the golden band and blue swooping up the tail but I found that very difficult to recreate in photoshop so I made an adoption of the logo, it would probably look better if it was rotated to follow the slope of the tail
• Disagreed to be honest, I'm quite happy with the height of the blue base any lower and in my opinion the back of the aircraft would look rather dull.

Anyhow here a few more designs I've made, hopefully my style's improved a bit.

I'm not too sure about the tail of the Air London, the additional St. George's Cross seems a bit out of place/disconnected from the rest of the livery but at the same time it adds something to an otherwise rather bland tail

As always, comments and constructive criticism are welcomed (even if I might not necessarily agree with you it's good to get differening opinions)

Afrika is BY Far your Best I really like it.

 

I like the wave on the air london and the tail..but the vertical line in the center is

FRDM, bud your Afrika livery is the boss! I must have a thing for stripes, lots of my AC have them. But I really like yours, can't wait to see your next batch! How many of these lines do you fly? or is it just fun projects?

As for Air London, how about enlarging the coat of arms, with A L as an underlay, following the natural lines of the tail unit. so a bit like an italic A L with shield overly if you see what I mean. Not sure why I wrote that twice?

aeroSwitzerland 747-400. A nice blatant ripoff of Swissair's livery with a few changes, now that I look at it again the shading and tail could've used a bit more work but oh, well.

@ Cap, currently Flug Deutschland, ALD and Air London as well as JIA Regional Service and Vol Caraibes (now with a new logo) are run by me. Air Finland and aeroSwitzerland are run by others and Mercury + Whitehaven are currently not run at all.

I like your Air Hokkaido. Though I take issue with your Formosan, modern logo with cheatlines equals silly.
