Would it not be a good idea to let airlines merge, but not allow airlines to acquire another airline. Once this has been done, 2 people could control the airline making it more realistic ie like BA/Iberia and IAG

No, it will not. this has been discussed more than enough times and will not be implemented any time soon due to the current nature of the game

The big airlines would merge and dominate the world. This idea everyone has of it being good is horrible.
