What is the shortest operating route in the game? I just found a russian airline running a nice route between two Moscow airports, 27 long miles, daily demand of 48 people. The taxi'ing at the airport will probably last longer than the flight

for a small time i operated a 27 mile long route between Istanbul Ataturk and Istanbul Sabiha Gocken but I closed it now. LHR-LCY is 23 miles and BHX-CVT is 13, don't know of any other shorter AE routes but i haven't checked

How is the profit on these routes? Are they even on the plus side, or just a charity to transfer passengers?

i have made profits on these routes i used a pc12 for bhx-cvt and Beech C99s,Metro3s and 737-100s on ist-saw, in reality these routes wouldn't even be thought about but on here it can be turned into about $100 profit per day

The company that fly this route is called something with airtaxi in russian, a good description then.
Why needing seats for these routes, you could just stuff people in there standing. First class & business get to stand on a red carpet. And lifevests + oxygen masks etc.? I dont think so.

as much as sounds a good idea i'd say the law would prevent you from doing thisThe company that fly this route is called something with airtaxi in russian, a good description then.

Perhaps by today's laws.. At least Ryanair is innovative enough to think about it..

Yeah but helicopters are different.. More impressive if you'd attempt to send an A380 across 27 miles or shorter eh?

If I had an American company... I would probably go for some of the nice routes alternatives over there with the a380...
JFK - Newark = 21 miles...
or even better...
JFK - LaGuardia = 11 miles..
classy

LPL-CEG is 12 miles, but I dont think you can go to CEG anymore, I once operated that route though. If Woodord was in AE you could do MAN-Woodford which is 4 miles.

yeah but keep it classy now, there should at least be enough space for the a380 to briefly take off and touchdown again.
i can see the opa locka route to miami on 8 miles, but there's no gates there?! is it possible to build a terminal for american companies though?

btw. this route would be hilarious in real life. maybe it would beat the local traffic, so it would be profitable for business men and such. of course you would need to remove gateway security and all those procedures
