The current clash in Syria is a current affair, so I figured "why not?"

Basically, tell us how you feel about Syria.

It will be a long drawn out civil war - eventually the rebels will win and Syria will be a democratic nation.... Not that there will be anything left of historic or monetary value, it wouldn't surprise me to find the people of Syria are worse off after the civil war than before it.

They will be about the same. Much rebuilding would be needed, but that would be offset by the fact that more money is going into the general population than with a dictatorial regime.

Never support the Syrian Rebels nor the Assad Regime. At least make them destroy each other then install some leader that would actually make Syria better. By better, I mean something Western-like :awesome:

Not to be a villian here, I believe the regime will win.

Assuming the Opposition wins, I'd love to see Turkey be heavily involved in the reconstruction and formation of the new government. It is my understanding that Turkey has an excellent balance between Islamicism, and secularism. And being being a secular person I'd love to see a new secular government in the region.
