Why are all worlds 40 years time period? Couldn't there be some world with a duration of ~ 80 years, like from 1950 to 2030. That way an airline could get almost all planes that were/are used in commercial transport; from the Lockheed starliner and Douglas DC-4 to the A350-1000 and 787-9/10 . Starting aircraft could be like DC-3, Boeing 377, An-2 and Ju-52/3. Is it likely to be implemented? What could be the problems?
longer World

Lack of interest in such a long world would probably be the number one reason to not do such a world. It would also lock off a good bit of server space, although a dev would know more about that than I would.
Finally, some people will take offense at your request for simply using the ;-) face. Not my problem, but letting you know.

It's really me, now. #backtoAE

people tend to loseinterest after about 30 years, e.g. one world(can't remember which) had about 147/300 after 35 years...

This is the main reason most worlds are 40 years (and to think they used to be 20, then 30...). Rδ will be 50 years - it will be interesting to see the drop off rate after year 30. You also have to remember that longer worlds = fewer resets = longer waits for new worlds.

longer waits for new worlds.
Another great reason to want shorter worlds, not longer
