Ah. Sorry missed that, that seems wrong indeed.

Then again, the difference is so small it's negligible on total income of a running airline in AE.

I leased gates at an airport I no longer wish to serve. I am having trouble navigating the interface to find a way to cancel the leaseholds. Any suggestions?

Under the "gates" tab on the left, the second link under it should say "return gates". Click it and select which gates you would like to return by clicking the return button next to the airport.

AE is the best.

My Tipp is thake a Noteblock and write down all the routes that are profitable and not used from Main Airline

You go to Search Airports and only Continental then you can see al the big airports that gives you alot of profits everyting over 100Gates is good to Start whit

The most Profitable plane i know is the 747-400 early later newer big Planes

If you grow bigger and there are no big routes left go to some other Airport in your Country and Start to chek your list of airports of your continent if there is someting free

then if this is done you go to steal the routes from the AI becouse they have fixed Prices and wont go beyond a specified ticked price as faar as i know

Question: If you find an open route, How many flights should you operate? I just picked daily but seems like I should match demand, correct?

Yes, matching demand is the goal in order to make the most money.  You don't have to, and there are certain circumstances you may not want to, but that's typically how it works.

Can i have tips around deciding what routes would be worth flying. And information around alliances and marketing. One last thing questions around Seat layouts and airplanes.

Absolutely. A new member must focus on nothing but profit until they understand the game. Forget ethics, there aren't even real people at stake here.

Totally mate. All economy, no ifs/ife

Hello everyone,

I just started to play, It's not my first (airline game) but I still have limited experience.

I was wondering if the best starting plan was to borrow as much as possible and spam the world with all the planes you can buy ?

It seems that it's what everybody is doing, so it must be the best strategy isn't it ?

Thanks for your advice

Use 717-200s.

717-200s are my go-to for short-haul.

My most successful (i.e., actually profitable) business model has been a low-cost carrier. I've adopted a number of practices from various real low-cost carriers, such as Southwest, Allegiant, and WestJet. Among them:

--Point to point, no hub and spoke
--Secondary airports
--Flights to airports which have limited or no service from mainline carriers
--Regional aiports with lower landing and handling charges than larger established airports
--Limiting IFS--if any--to inexpensive snacks
--No IFE
--Using one type of aircraft
--Maintaining low operational costs
--High employee/aircraft productivity

(Much of the above has been touched upon by various other, more experience AE members.)

Out of a desperation of sorts, due to the fact that I was having a difficult time being profitable, I simply went to Wikipedia and studied up on various low-cost carriers and noted what they do. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well it worked to copy their practices. I don't currently have any mega-airlines with twenty hubs but I enjoy myself and feel like I'm operating relatively realistically.

Also, somewhere in one of these forums I found this suggested formula for acquiring aircraft; it works fairly well for me, although I sometimes stray away from it:

After cash reaches $5 million,
1. Lease used aircraft until $15-20 million
2. Lease new aircraft until $25-30 million
3. Buy used aircraft until $150-200 million
4. Buy new aircraft

Or you can just IndiGO it and not operate more than two types of aircraft even though you have 40% market share. Worked in my first airline, but that accidentally got deleted :(

In the flight list there is a line "Flight 0 / 1" for each flight, what does it mean?
