I know this sund crazy, but why not tell me what you think of this?
On Ae we have several Fs repainters and people who are good at web design.
So, I had an idea.
Why not ask someone on Ae to set up a website (like freewebs) so that some Ae repainters can put their work up for download?
The site would be open to the public and free, but we would ask that everyone who downloads planes to make a small ($2) donation to some charity (Red Cross, FEMA, Catholic Charities) for hurricane recovery efforts? I have a few repaints on my computer that I would gladly put on line in order to help those poor people in New Orleans.
Tell me what you think.

I can paint AI planes and real planes for mainly fictional airlines, maybe some easier real ones (i.e. DLH). I can also make AI flightplans, if anyone would want one. We probably want all types of files(Orginal A/C, Textures, AI, Scenery, etc.). I think this is a great idea.

While I agree that it's a good idea, I believe it's also illegal. If you have them make a donation, it's just like charging for the plane they're downloading. Since we're talking about freeware planes, it would be simply illegal.

Did you read what i wrote? Our OWN planes(original a/c), our OWN textures, our OWN AI plans for AI aircraft, and our OWN Scenery. AK, i know you can make scenery, maybe u could help us out in that part?

I know you mean your own plane textures, and stuff, but still, I believe it's illegal.
As for scenery, what do you need help with? I used Flight Simulator Scenery Creator.

It isn't illegal, since it will be donations. Of course 100% of the revenues would go to the charity we chose here. I'd definitely consider doing this.

Ok, looks like my idea is not so crazy after all. Unfortunately, I will be gone most of this weekend and will be away from a computer. The serious work will have to wait for monday. However, the need will last at least that long.
If there is anyone who knows a good template-based (not html) free website host that allows me to upload files for download, let me know please. In the mean time, please start compiling lists of files you are willing to upload for use and lists of charities you think are good. Please no POS or similar until I can ask for written permission!
I have decided to use this name:

good news, bad news. bad news- I can't get the permission from POSKY to use my own repaints on this site. I put in a question and got some formal jibber-jabber about them not thinking it was a good idea. So unless someone has a template for a plane of their own, I can't repaint. Good news- I am still in this and am trying to find a site.

I think hes talking about planes. If you could maybe make a few models of major planes(737, A320, CRJ), I would make a form for custom paint schemes for people who wanted one and donated money. If anyone else here can paint real airline liveries(harder ones), then post here, u2u me or AIM me at ttwttwttsrdmbadb . Thanks.
