How long have you waited for take-off?

Got into ATL about 30 minutes late because of thunderstorms we flew down to Florida and then turned back up to Atlanta. Then We got on our ATL-LAS flight by like 5 minutes and start taxiing. Get to number 3 in line for takeoff and then the airport closes for about "30 minutes" which eventually turned into 3.5 hours because the storms stalled over the airport. Then the airport reopens during the thunderstorms because the planes have no more fuel to divert or circle so they opened it up. Then the winds shifted so the other side of the runway was active so we were no longer 3rd in line for takeoff at 08R we wound up according to the pilots 63rd or 67th? (can't remember which oen it was) in line for takeoff on 26L. So all in all we were leaving ATL an hour after we were supposed to arrive in Vegas. Most exciting takeoff I'll tell you that. Bolt of lighting right off the right wing as we were going into the clouds. As exciting as that was it only gave us 2 hours to check into our hotel and get ready for our first game when we got to Vegas.

9 hour scheduled layover, think it was EVA. DFW - LAX - TPE - HKG. Taipei international terminal, 10PM to 7 AM local time. Spent the time discussing video games with some random person the whole time. Still e-mail the poor bastard on occasion. DAMN that terminal is boring.

Earlier this year it took me 4 hours from pushback at PHL to landing at BWI... about a 20 minute flight on a B757.
As somebody who travels in and out of Philadelphia a lot.... when the weather is bad, a two hour taxi out for take-off is very common.

Yeah, but that's a scheduled layover you could schedule a 22 hour layover if you wanted. All of these are unscheduled delays.Originally posted by Scalpel4
I win.

Well, no, because I didn't have a choice. The flight to Kuala Lumpur literally had that long of a layover, it was the only way to get there when I needed. That was my first time in the TPE international terminal, and it was before the last renovation and expansion. BTW, Before I said HKG, my mistake, meant KUL.

To true, to true, and I was not. However, none of you can beat the legendary NWA ordeal a few years back. I'm sure you all know it, although I'm sure nobody knows anyone who was there. that day.

We got to Madrid around 10pm, we landed in thunderstorm in an A320 and all the bags were wet due to the heavy downpour... We had to find some seats in the terminal and try to sleep.. Oh well, lucky the SQ B747-400 was a nice sight in the morning, before we headed back home....
And in a plane, the most time i spent waiting was 15-20 mins at Madrid aswell, waiting for the queue to shuffle down to us, as we left for Vigo!!
