August 16, 2016

GUIYANG - Guiyang residents are ecstatic today as one of its local but world-renowned businessmen has just founded a new airline based in Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport (KWE/ZUGY). Mr. Tao Chi Chang, CEO of newly-founded Air Oriental, Incorporated, has confirmed in a press briefing today that through the efforts and help of his fellow Guiyang businessmen and investors, Air Oriental will now be setting up shop in Guiyang with one leased Airbus A319-100. Mr. Chang hopes, not only to make Guiyang a central hub for Southwest China but also help improve the local economy as well as its transportation system since Air Oriental will be connecting the largely isolated southwest with the rest of China.

Mr. John Chou, CFO of the said airline, has announced, in the press briefing with the chief officers of Air Oriental, that over 6 investors have invested $5 million to help jumpstart this new airline. Mr. Alexander George, COO and one of the few foreigners onboard this new business, has said that "...Air Oriental will face many difficulties and challenges but will prevail if [they] manage to get people flying soon."

Mr. George also announced that Air Oriental has made an agreement with Canadian Airlines for its secondhand Airbus A319-100 on the market. This aircraft was manufactured in 2006 and will have a 4 year contract with Air Oriental.

According to him, Air Oriental's starting timetable would be this:

Hangzhou - Once Daily
Chongqing - Once Daily

Hopefully, Mr. Chang said, this airline will bring economic prosperity to the [Chinese] southwest and help in stimulating growth in the city of Guiyang and the Guizhou prefecture as well as neighboring prefectures.

"AIR ORIENTAL SET TO BECOME INTERNATIONAL CARRIER BY 2025"

January 21, 2017

GUIYANG - Air Oriental, that new airline based in Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport (KWE/ZUGY), has just announced that KWE has now become their full fledged hub. Mr. Alexander George, COO of the airline, has also confirmed the rumors that Air Oriental will be building a new, exclusive terminal in the airport grounds. Mr. George expects the terminal to start construction by 2019 and be finished by 2021. Mr. George also announced the possibility of 2 new focus cities in China with one being a possible hub by 2018. So far, Mr. George has not disclosed the cities so as to stop any of the airlines' rivals to set-up their own hubs there.

In other news, Mr. Tao Chi Chang, CEO of the said airline, announced that the airline has bought four secondhand Airbus A321-200 and leased two secondhand Airbus A321-200 and two Airbus A319-100. This huge fleet acquisition is, according to him, supposed to increase the airline's presence in China and in Asia as a regional carrier. Also, Mr. Chang announced that Air Oriental has made an agreement with Airbus for the lease of 8 new Airbus A319-100s to increase domestic destinations from Guiyang and also to have more destinations from its "unknown" new hub. The Airbus A319-100s will arrive every month starting January and ending in August.

Finally, Mr. Chang and Mr. George have both confirmed that they are looking towards a Boeing aircraft to service its Europe, Australia, Oceania, Middle East and Africa routes. He hopes to make Air Oriental a full-fledged international carrier by 2025 and through this he hopes to join one of the many alliances soon after.

"AIR ORIENTAL EXPANDS INTO EUROPE AND NORTH AMERICA, NEW FOCUS CITY ANNOUNCED"

September 9, 2017

GUIYANG - Air Oriental's CEO, Mr. Tao Chi Chang, is proud to announce that Air Oriental has reached the international level of airline service, earlier than what was expected. With profits rallying in the first two quarters of the year, Mr. Chang has announced the arrival of 4 newly-leased Airbus A350-800s. With these new aircraft, Air Oriental has announced new destinations to Europe and North America. London, Amsterdam, Madrid in Europe and New York (via JFK), Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Phoenix, Denver and Houston in North America are now connected to Guiyang, China with as much as once to thrice weekly flights to these destinations. From there, Mr. Chang hopes to serve even more North American, European and even Australian destinations once the last of the leased Airbus A350-800s arrive in late 2017.

Other than that, Mr. Alexander George, COO of the said airline, has announced its new focus city will be Taiyuan in Northern China, near Beijing. He hopes that Air Oriental's three hubs will hopefully bring in even more passengers. Also, he announced that a Middle Eastern firm has bid for the construction of a new exclusive terminal for Air Oriental at Guiyang. The Middle Eastern firm is also looking towards bidding for a new terminal at Wenzhou once the need for it arises. Mr. George confirms that construction will begin in 2018-2019 then end around 2020-2021 depending on the issues the airline has to face with the Chinese government.

So far, Air Oriental has now also named a new rival in domestic services, China Northern which has expanded itself heavily into the routes that Air Oriental is flying. Also, Air Oriental is naming Cheaper Airways, a very established airline as one of its rivals as well. Hopefully, the heat will soon be extinguished between these airlines and that a fair slice in the Chinese aviation market will be given to each airline.

"AIR ORIENTAL ORDERS NEW AIRCRAFT, EXPANDS OPERATIONS

August 4, 2018

GUIYANG - Air Oriental has announced the acquisition of 7 brand-new Airbus A319-100s, 2 brand-new Airbus A330-200s and 5 Airbus A350-800s. This brings the total aircraft fleet of Air Oriental to a whooping 54 jets. Mr. Tao Chi Chang, CEO of the airline, announces in the press meeting yesterday that the airline is nearing its goal of being an intercontinental airline and one of the flag carriers of China. He said that its previous timetable of accomplishing this goal by 2025 has now been cut short and will now happen by 2021-22.

Mr. Alexander George, COO of the airline has also announced that the exclusive terminal of Air Oriental in Guiyang Longdongbao is now in full swing and will be completed by 2021, coinciding with the airline's expectations of reaching its goals. Mr. George has also announced further destinations now served by the airline to Europe and North America. He hopes that with the acquisition of the A330-200, Air Oriental's presence will also be felt in the Middle East and Australia.

Both Mr. Chang and Mr. George have also announced in the press meeting that Taiyuan will be a fully-fledged hub of the airline by 2019 and that a new focus city in Hohhot, Northern China has been set-up. Hohhot expects to become the airline's fourth hub by 2020-2021. They also announced a possibility of a fifth hub by 2023-2025.

Mr. Chang also added that a possible Boeing aircraft will take-over for the airline's super long haul routes (e.g. Guiyang-Buenos Aires, Johannesburg) soon once the three hubs (Guiyang, Wenzhou and Taiyuan) have been fully-utilized.

"AIR ORIENTAL REACHES TOP 100 RICHEST AIRLINES, EXPANDS FLEET"

June 9, 2019

GUIYANG - Air Oriental is pleased to announce that due to its aggressive expansion in both the domestic Chinese market and the international market, it has now garnered a Top 100 spot in the World's Richest Airlines list. Mr. Tao Chi Chang is ecstatic upon hearing this and in the press conference he held yesterday, he announced that Air Oriental will not stop there. It will continue its past plans of building a terminal and expanding to 5 hubs by 2022. But other than that, it now promises more for its customers.

"Air Oriental will do its best to serve our customers even better. We will now be setting new goals to be reachable by 2020-2025. First, we will expand our fleet to over 100 aircraft by 2021. Second, we will serve over 200 destinations by 2021 as well. Third, we will have 2-3 terminals by 2027-2030. Lastly, we will capture 40-50% of the Chinese market by 2025-2030. Currently, we now hold over 50% in Guiyang and Wenzhou and around 30-49% in Taiyuan and Hohhot. We will soon be expanding to our final hub and then just increase frequencies and add more destinations to the other hubs to increase our competitive edge against other airlines. We also currently have one of the youngest fleet in the world with an average age of 3 and half years. Soon, we will also be acquiring a new aircraft from Boeing, the 777-200LR for our super long haul routes to South America and Southern Africa. All of these just proves that we are a very resilient and growing airline. In line with this as well, we will now be changing our slogan to 'Rising With the Sun!' to show our rise as an intercontinental airline."

This was a transcript of the speech Mr. Chang gave yesterday, and these numbers were not pulled out of a magical hat. These are all achievable in the very near future. Soon, Air Oriental hopes, they will reach the top 20 and join the ranks of other prestigious airlines and also be recognized as such. Until then, Air Oriental continues to stun the Chinese aviation market with its double digit gains and growth in the past two years. It will soon be a threat to other "established airlines" if it is not already so.
