So, I know that there are restrictions on flying from Love Field (the Wright Amendment), but I am confused.

In the beta world...

I tried to open a route and no available planes. No problem, must the restrictions. Then I look at a route that already has competition.

DAL-MEX, for example. One competitor is running a small service using the A319-100. So, I figured it must be runway length issues.

Then, I go buy the same model aircraft (with perhaps a variant difference, not sure). My takeoff length reports as ~3500, DAL is ~8800, should be no problem. Same plane as competitor, within limits (I think), still can't open the route..

So, I am confused. I would understand it if noone can open the route, but someone already has. Am I missing something?

Thanks!

It is possible to get past the restrictions by changing from a DAL compatible aircraft to a larger aircraft using the change aircraft function.
