In 1985, The Egyptian goverment in Cairo wanted more traffic to Cairo International Airport, so they launched a promising new airline called Air Cairo.
Air Cairo's ambition was to connect Cairo to multiple destinations around the world. They would do this via hub-and-spoke operations, connecting cities through Cairo.
Above is the first aircraft in Air Cairo's fleet. It is a 9 year old 737-100. The registration is SU-AAC. The aircraft operates the route from Cairo International Airport to Athens International Airport. The aircraft also often operates from Cairo international Airport to Istanbul Airport.
As of 1985 the airline's future plans are to have international routes to Europe, North America and Asia. They also want to expand their fleet to much more modern aircraft, such as 737-200s, 737-300s and also 747-300s.
