1-1 | Sierra Pacific | Boeing 727-100 | 1965-1974

Sierra Pacific was founded in the Year 1965 by young entrepreneur Michael Hersh Steinman in San Francisco, California. Sierra Pacific would start out with a fleet of Lockheed Electra's at first, eventually obtaining it’s first batch of jetliners in 1967 in the form of the Boeing 727-100. The 727-100, nicknamed the “Coastrunner” by the airline, would be SP’s first domestic workhorse, commonly seen on routes to cities such as Sacramento, Spokane, Reno, and San Diego. In later parts of it's life, the 727 could be seen on more local destinations like Bakersfield, Redding, and Eugene. The type would see its service come to an end in the aftermath of 9/11, being fully replaced in purpose and spirit by newer 737NG units by Christmas 2001.
