Expansion in the former Eastern Bloc

In May 2012, the lease of four Boeing 717 aircraft from Boeing Capital Corporation allowed for the launch of new routes to Kiev, Riga, and Warsaw. Their length of time in the fleet was short-lived, and with the delivery of three new Airbus A320s in September 2014, Croatia Airways returned all its leased 717s back to BCC. These were the only Boeing aircraft ever operated by the airline.
