3. Boeing 747-100 | N747MA

MidAmerican has always been a strong proponent of innovation in the airline industry, and the Boeing 747 was no exception. Placing an order for 8 examples in 1967, MidAmerican received its first Boeing 747-100 during the summer of 1970, and brought a new level of comfort and luxury to the skies. Equipped with MidAmerican's legendary piano bar, the airline's Queens of the Skies zipped across America and Asia with loads of nearly 400 passengers and cargo. MidAmerican would eventually operate the 747-200 and the 747SP, and became the launch customer for the 747-400 in 1984. MidAmerican plans on retiring its last 747-400 passenger aircraft in 2021, but will continue to operate 747 freighters.
