1947 | DC-7C

Aerostar Airlines was founded in 1947 using ex-military surplus aircraft. The US government provided the contract and aircraft to Aerostar provided that in a time of need the airline would return the aircraft to the government. Aerostar also made sure to receive aircraft from other sources in order to prevent bankruptcy in a time of war. Sure enough, by 1950 the government repossessed four of Aerostar's DC-3s and two of its DC-4s. Two DC-3s would not return to Aerostar. However, the arrival of the Convair 340 and DC-6 would help keep the airline afloat. The DC-3 would remain in service until 1956, and the DC-4 was retired one year later.
Aerostar was founded in Seattle, Washington and was the first airline to move into Seattle-Tacoma airport in 1947. The airline's first flights were mostly local with the DC-4s routing all the way to Dallas. When the DC-6 was introduced late in 1947, the airline was able to provide a daily flight to Dallas via Yakima, Boise, Salt Lake City, Grand Junction, Albuquerque, and Lubbock.
The DC-7 was first introduced into Aerostar service in 1955. The DC-7A made a great aircraft for longer routes, especially with its sleeper cabins. The DC-7B would be the first Aerostar aircraft to leave the continental US, flying to Anchorage and on to Seoul. The DC-7C would be the first to make it to Japan, flying from Seattle to Anchorage to Tokyo and Seattle to San Francisco to Los Angeles to Saipan to Tokyo. Los Angles would also become a junction for the first flight from Dallas to Tokyo. By 1958 the DC-7 had not only allowed Aerostar to fly internationally, it also allowed the airline to fly across the US without connecting to other airlines.

| I chose to redo the 1947 livery because I didn't think it was up to the same standard as the other liveries. I think it is important for an airline to look good from its very beginning. With this update I can finally accept the historical liveries and hopefully release the modern livery very soon! |

Sometimes I feel like an airline called Aerostar should come from Texas, the Lone Star state. But I guess that's just me.

    This is still awesome nonetheless.

Originally it was going to be but I feel like the star reference still works, albeit not as well as it would be in Texas.
