- Album MidAmerican Airlines

MidAmerican Cargo's history dates back to the early 1970s, however the corporate entity was founded in 1994 with four Boeing 747-200 freighters that operate out of MidAmerican's hub in Anchorage, flying cargo between points in the United States to points in Asia. The airline added the MD-11F to its fleet in 1995, the Boeing 747-400F in 2000, and became the first worldwide operator of the Boeing 777F in 2009. MidAmerican Cargo's fleet now numbers 14 aircraft; the airline is not only one of the world's top 10 cargo carriers, but is now the only major U.S. carrier to operate a dedicated cargo division.
In 2000, MidAmerican Cargo became a founding member of DWA Cargo, along with Azalea Pacific Cargo, British Global Cargo, Finnav Cargo, Hanseatic Cargo, Poletavia Cargo and Orient Air Cargo. DWA Cargo combines both freighter capacity between passenger airlines' belly cargo spaces and the freighter divisions of its member airlines to provide the widest coverage available of any airline alliance.
Outside of its American hubs, MidAmerican Cargo maintains a European logistics center in Munich, Germany; and Asian logistics centers in Hong Kong and Tokyo-Narita, Japan.
