- Album Air Galicia
Despite having used DC-7's since 1953, Air Galicia bought some DC-7C's to fly to the east coast of North America and India. These planes were faster and costed less to operate than the Starliners in the shorter long haul routes. When the jet age arrived in 1958, as Air Galicia operated less than 35 DC-7's in the two versions combined, they were quickly replaced by the new Boeing 707-120 aeroplanes, as opposed to the L-1649's which took more time to replace completely as they constituted the backbone of Air Galicia´s long haul routes during the 1950's
Nicely done!
