B-8747 was the first 747-400 delivered to China Central Airlines, arriving in 1994. Until 2005, the plane sported the 1991-2005 livery, which was used after the breakup of the national airline. The plane is now one of 28 747-400s in the fleet, and B-8747 can be most commonly found operating the Beijing - Shanghai Hongqiao route, or being used as a substitute plane on the Shanghai Hongqiao - Tokyo Haneda and Shanghai Hongqiao - Seoul Gimpo routes.
