The shoebox project

This is a project of mine I am starting which will be a airport in a shoebox. I will be making the aircraft from scratch in 1/1700 scale. I have not confirmed what airport it will be. (May be made up) and it may not remain in a shoebox for very long as I may scrap the idea to make a whole airport as a shoebox won’t fit an entire airport. (Car park included and things like that included)
It will be a European airport but that’s all that is confirmed about the airport it’s self.
Any tips will be appreciated and airport planning manuals as well as tips on ground markings will be great if you could give me them.
