Dynasty World Alliance: This alliance is led by Brad. The current DWA has been around since 2015 (like Brad). DWA was an alliance before 2015, starting in 2012. It fell inactive until 2015, when it was reintroduced by Brad. This alliance attracts a lot of big-name players, like Med. If you are a more well-known player, this is a good alliance to apply to. Their entry requirements are very strict though, so have a well-developed and original brand before you apply.
SkyRoutes: This alliance is led by PAG. It has been around since September 2014. SkyRoutes was shut down in September 2017 and will soon reopen. It used to be a very accepting alliance, seriously considering every player. They tended to review forum prescence, though not as stringently as DWA, only checking for past problems.
National: This alliance is led by Anzatax. It has been around since 2016. National is a very accepting alliance, great for first-time players. However, they expect you to have a brand of your own before joining, with fleet types and destinations (though they will make you a logo or livery upon request).
Jetstream Alliance: This alliance is led by bAnderson. It has been around since January 2015. Jetstream was the first alliance exclusively for low cost carriers, but was rebooted in 2017 as an alliance for gallery airlines. Jetstream started out as a function of SkyRoutes, until it was mutually decided that Jetstream and SkyRoutes were essentially two different alliances. Jetstream has been heavily influenced by SkyRoutes in both applications, day-to-day operations, and presence.
The SkyWorld Alliance: This alliance is led by Tom. It has been around since February 2016. SkyWorld is one of the more premier airline-focussed alliances, with stringent gudelines for airline quality. SkyWorld is also an innovative alliance, being one of the first alliances to accept designer applications. This alliance is a good choice for realistic players and designers.
Universal Alliance: This alliance is led by Zortan. It has been around since January 2017. Universal is a rather busy alliance, having quickly become the largest in AE. Universal is for real-world airlines only, but they are very accepting towards new players who want to learn. They have recently opened a new training department for less experienced players and more information about them and their training progamme can be found at: http://universalalliance.tk
Cityhop Alliance: This alliance is led by PingPong. It has been around since September 2017. Cityhop is a small alliance focussed solely on regional airlines. They have stringent, but not impossible, airline entry requirements, due to the difficulty of profitably running a regional airline in AE. However, they judge all players equally, without bias based on account age (though they have partnered with Universal to train the newest players). They’re a good alliance for those who want a new challenge.
Unitedwings: This alliance is led by Britannia. It has been around since September 2017. Unitedwings focusses more on member than airline qualities and you’ll find some big name players, such as Med and DWProski, among their ranks. They have some of AE’s best know brands, as well. However, they generally only accept well-known players with good standing on the forums.
Gatway Alliance: This alliance is led by Geminijets 30. It has been around since November 2017. Gateway has developed a somewhat poor reputation, due to their applications process, where any player who adds their name and an airline to a list is automatically accepted. This has led to some unfortunate publicity, exacerbated by their use of the logo for Gateway Computers until they create their own. I’m not entirely sure whether being a member of Gateway would make other alliances more or less likely to accept you, but if you’re brand new and want to join a forum alliance before you’ve completely learned the game, they might be for you.
Well, there it is. Your most in-depth alliance guide. Thanks for reading, and make sure to vote on the polls!

You mentioned how Gateway used a plagiarised logo, but you failed to mention that your own Universal alliance uses one too.

A.) Not my alliance.
B.) The site you referenced when you told us is not written by the bird symbol’s original creator.
C.) The bird symbol is open-source anyway.

You cannot steal something which has an open-source non-attribution licence. Please contact Universal directly about this matter as I am not inclined to comment further.

Such a pity that it’s essentially inactive and there is no information about it, at all, because the entire subforum is password protected.
